About Jonathan
Jonathan graduated from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in July 2001, becoming one of the first in the UK to gain a BA(1st Hons) in Technical Theatre, specialising in Lighting Design.
He has created the Lighting for over 100 productions, comprising of Plays, Musicals, Pantomimes, Dance Shows, Showcases and Concerts at a variety of venues around the UK. He has also been Lighting Operator for numerous one night Live Music, Comedy and Variety performances, adapting designs where necessary to fit available venue resources.
During 2022 as well as a variety of further Theatre credits, Jonathan was Lighting Designer for the outdoor light trail 'Christmas @ Hatfield Park' and the indoor visitor attraction 'Snow Queen @ Blenheim Palace' for Culture Creatives. Jonathan returned to Blenheim Palace in December 2023 to create the lighting for 'Sleeping Beauty @ Blenheim Palace'.
His experience of a range of venues, staging formats and production schedules gives an ability to overcome challenges throughout the design and production process.
Excellent relationships with a number of hire suppliers allow for additional equipment to be provided, where necessary, at highly competitive rates.
Jonathan regularly works with a range of Professional and Amateur Theatre Companies as well as leading UK drama schools such as Institute for Contemporary Theatre and SLP College. He has also been a guest Lighting Designer for RADA, Mountview and GSA.
For 15 years he was venue based, as a Manager, in the areas of Technical, Production and Operational Management. As a Production Manager, he has been responsible for numerous in house Pantomimes, Youth Theatre Productions and touring shows, most recently working with Immersion Theatre and KD Theatre Productions.
He provides a nationwide service for Lighting Design and all duties associated with Lighting and Production Management to a range of clients.
As a Producer, he recently collaborated with London's 'The Wam Bam Club' to create a one night UK touring show - an explosive cocktail of Burlesque, Circus, Comedy, Magic & Music which played a number of venues in 2017/18.
